Here are some of Jen's initiatives

Kindness Worldwide

Jen was honoured to become a Global Ambassador for Kindness Worldwide. Founder Kevin Smith’s mission and vision align powerfully with Jen’s work in Luzern County, PA, with a team of educators, school safety, and criminal justice experts to implement a brain-informed diversion program for youth at risk. The heart of this initiative is kindness.

Boston Globe

Jen advocates for psychological safety in schools, sports, and in the workplace. She has presented multiple times to parliamentary groups in Canada and to the Senate in Massachusetts. Her letter to the editor on the issue of psychological safety was published in the Boston Globe.

Sports Equity

Jen works with Stanford University's Sport Equity Lab and a fabulous team to measure the importance and impact of empathy on a brain level and on a performance level as an athlete, teammate, and person with a focus on health, mental health, levels of happiness, experiences of connection, skill development, and ethics.

Whistleblowing Canada Research Society

Jen is on the board of Whistleblowing Canada where “truth, accountability and democracy matter.” She is a whistleblower on child abuse in Canadian schools. At Whistleblowing Canada, we focus on education on whistleblowing through research which we share widely. The goal is to inform effective whistleblower protection laws and safe, ethical, speak-up cultures in Canadian workplaces.

Jen is collaborating with Linda Crockett on workshops to educate leaders, managers, and HR about why it's crucial to create psychological safety from a trauma-informed and brain-science perspective.

Stronger Brains

Jen has been working with Stronger Brains - based in Australia - since 2021 with a focus on bringing brain-strengthening into the lives of children, especially those who have suffered trauma. Neuroscientist Dr. Michael Merzenich is a co-director of the Stronger Brains not-for-profit.
